Kroma
What is Kroma ?
Kroma is a rollup-based Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) blockchain. It aims to develop a universal ZK Rollup based on the Optimism Bedrock architecture. Currently, Kroma operates as an Optimistic Rollup with ZK fault proofs, utilizing a zkEVM based on Scroll. The goal of Kroma is to eventually transition to a ZK Rollup once the generation of ZK proofs becomes more cost-efficient and faster.
Key Features of Kroma
- Universal ZK Rollup: Aiming to develop a universal ZK Rollup based on the Optimism Bedrock architecture.
- Optimistic Rollup with ZK Fault Proofs: Currently operates as an Optimistic Rollup with ZK fault proofs.
- zkEVM based on Scroll: Utilizes a zkEVM based on the Scroll technology.
- Transition Plan: Plans to transition to a ZK Rollup when ZK proof generation becomes more cost-efficient and faster.
Use Cases in Kroma
- Scalable Ethereum Layer 2: Kroma serves as a scalable Layer 2 solution for Ethereum.
- Efficient ZK Rollup Transition: Ideal for projects looking for a transition to ZK Rollup with cost-efficiency and speed improvements.
- Technical Enthusiasts: Suitable for individuals with knowledge of Ethereum, rollups, ZK-EVM, and related technical concepts.
